Welcome! Bienvenue!

Prince of Wales Public School, built in 1876, is the oldest operating elementary school in the Simcoe County District School Board. We are located on Bradford Street in downtown Barrie. This is the 134th year for Prince of Wales . We are close neighbours with Barrie Central Collegiate, the secondary school our graduates attend. This close proximity affords us a unique partnership and provides wonderful learning opportunities for our students.
The mission of Prince Of Wales Public School is to help each student to develop his/her fullest potential academically, socially and emotionally. We believe that this is best accomplished in an atmosphere of mutual respect, trust and co-operation among all partners in the school community. Prince Of Wales offers a variety of educational experiences for students. We offer an Extended French as a Second Language Program for students in Grades 5 to 8. Involvement in Prince Of Wales teams, clubs and activities, whether athletic or academic, promotes the students’ abilities, develops friendship and gives a sense of accomplishment and responsibility. We follow a balanced day approach to scheduling. This encourages fitness, nutrition and literacy blocks.
